Hey, guys (and ladies). (: It's been a while since I wrote a journal on here, so I hate that I'm writing one now asking for your guys' help, but oh well. Here goes.
Vince (my husband) and I want to move out to Los Angeles, California at the end of June from Colorado. The only problem is 1) finding a place to live and 2) me finding a job there. So I guess what I would like help with is advice on where to look for affordable places. Lot's of people recommended Craigslist, which I tried, and all I've found thus far is spam. It's getting incredibly frustrating and I think I'm about to call it quits on that stupid website. So where else could I look? We're looking to pay ABSOLUTELY no more than $650-$700 a month (and that's IF I can find myself a job) and we're looking for a place for at least two months (preferably six months to a year). We'll go anywhere in LA, but I'd love to snag a place in Long Beach.
And about a job...does anyone have any tips on how to get a job now so I'll have one set up for when I get there? I know employers look more seriously at in-state applicants, so I need to figure out a way to stand out. I will work almost anywhere that will pay and give me hours. I want to work for a year then possibly attend school again next year once I can claim residency and get in-state tuition. So if anyone knows of/has connections with anyone who's hiring or who will be hiring soon, that would be great.
So if anyone has any advice or connections, it would be HUGELY appreciated. Or if you want to donate money...(not asking, just saying) to pitch-in towards our moving costs, I wouldn't object.

Either leave me a comment here, or you can email me at twixiechick@gmail.com
Thanks, guys. I love you all!

<3,
~Lauren
